its acceptable, just not common, just go to like forever 21 or some other inexpensive place, and buy a colored dress, that way even if you never wear it again, it wont matter 'cause it wont cost you a bunch of $$.

I am sure in malls there are tons of clothes that are different colors except black. . . . And yes, wearing black to a wedding is considered as bad manners and is offensive to some people.

I had a night wedding and alot of girls wore black cocktail dresses. My bridesmaids also wore black. Brighten it up with your accessories...try wearing a cute pair of pumps in a bright color. Black and white is also a cute combo. The only time I would hesitate wearing black is an early afternoon wedding.

It depends, the last wedding I went to I wore black pants and shoes with a pink tank top and a black sweter, the pink pretty much balanced it, but I wore a necklace and a head band to kind of break the black.

Black is usually a "depressing" color. Like a funeral. You could wear a pair a black slacks with a white blouse. Accessorize with a black necklace and/or bracelet. Don't go over the top.

I wouldn't wear something that is predominantly black. Instead, opt for a color that reflects the season. If its a spring wedding, you can wear pastel colors, etc.

I'd have to say no. Go shopping for any other color.Wearing black on the happiest day of someones life is kind of saying "Hope you don't stay together forever." yah know... it's a happy day, why do you think the bride wears white...?
