I'm visiting Curitiba in a week, which happens to be during Carnival. So i've been reading up on this city, and my understanding is that Carnival is celebrated everywhere, but can someone give me more details about any festivities during Carnival in Curitiba?

I was born there and the answer for your question, in one word is: Boring! People use to go to the beach, one hour far, by car, and there is more funny!

No Carnaval in Curitiba. (we say carnaval - with "a"). It is different as you see on TV for everywhere, as you said, not carnaval at the streets.

But you can find good clubs, as "Santa Mônica", "Paraná" and "Curitibanos", where you can use your fancy drees, masquarede (hope these are the correct words), and can hear tipic carnaval musics, dance, eat, drink and have a lot of fun!

Have a nice stay there and enjoy! It is one of the most beautifull cities in the country, very clean, urban transport is the best! The biggest green area per habitant (± 60m2 for each one).

Hugs!

Empty. Carnival is not celebrated everywhere in Brazil. Some cities has festivities others not, that is the case of Curitiba.

I´m form Curitiba and here in Brazil there is a non official consensus that says that: "Curitiba is the best place in Brazil to hide from Carnival" :)

Bye,
