I'm not going to answer in historical terms, because it always depends on which team is winning at the ttime. But this season alone, the answer is the Buffalo Sabres hands down. I'm glad that they are selling out their own arena, as they should be. But when the Sabres played the Rangers at MSG in the past, there'd always be about a hundred or so hardcore Sabres supporters, and I gave them credit. But this season, there must have been 1, 000 Sabres supporters at MSG. That's about a 90% increase in bandwagoners at the away game. Almost none of them were wearing the 1990's or early 2000's jerseys. They were wearing that new POS jersey. That's how you can tell a Bufallo bandwagoner apart from a hardcore Sabres fan.

I'll admit that there are way too many "Sabres fans", but as a true fan, I really don't mind. People buying merchandise and going to games means the Sabres can pay good veteran players to stay put instead of opting for free agency, ticket prices stay low, and the team is something that unifies the local community. A hockey nut can't ask for a better combination than that!

The PENGUINS!!! Their fans weren't all that interested until Super Mario announced he was considering moving the team to Kansas City and Sid Crosby started playing well. Now they think they've already won the Stanley Cup! Counting their chickens before they've hatched in both cases if you ask me. Mario & Co. still don't have an agreement with local officials for a new arena and even with Sid Crosby, the team isn't good enough to go the distance in the Eastern Conference.

Anybody who says Buffalo doesn't understand the economics of the area and should be dismissed.

In case you're wondering, that means people in an area like Buffalo where jobs are somewhat hard to find in certain fields will spend their money on the best entertainment value. Why do you think we don't sell out Bills games?

Even though there my team, id have to say Buffalo. Our city is filled with tons of true fans, but the bandwaggoners are getting annoying. You ask a person to name 10 players with their jersey number and they cant do it. Its ridiculous. But still, the true fans have always been there for the team no matter what. GO SABRES!!!

I'd say Buffalo Sabres because of how good they've been the past 2 years

or

Pittsburgh Penguins because of Crosby and such

Long term? Red Wings
Today? Buffalo

Buffalo got my attention at the end of last year and I was hoping they would continue to play good this year. Am I a bandwagoner? Maybe so. The reason why I enjoy watching them is because they are fun to watch - they score - and often!
So do the Red Wings...
I almost left out the Pengiuns! There are a lot of Panguin fans these days thanks to Sidney and Malkin... and Staal, and Recchi....

Thats easy, my team, the Sabres! Bandwagon fans are funny. Just ask them the last time the Sabres were in the Stanley Cup, gets them every time.
