He still wakes up at least every 3 hours. He gets 3 meals of baby food throughout the day plus however much breastfeeding he wants. He usually only takes one nap during the day, for around an hour and a half. And he goes to bed around 8pm. He sleeps in his own room in his own bed. We have some soft music playing. And he still won't sleep through the night. The longest he sleeps, which is rare, is 5 hours straight. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to help him figure this out? I let him cry himself to sleep sometimes at nap time during the day, but its hard to do that in the middle of the night because it wakes up his older (23 month) brother and his dad, who doesn't like the cry it out method. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

Send dad and older brother to a hotel, sorry. The only thing that worked for any of my boys was letting them "cry it out". If dad does not like the cry it out, then have him figure it out. It is hard and no one sleeps for a few nights but it works. Try having the baby sleep in the living room, or have older brother sleep on your floor. Everyone getting a good night sleep is important for a happy family.

I can't help you My son is 8 months eats tons of solids during the day nurses all he wants and goes to bed at 8 but by 1 am he is up and screaming. I knoiw this isn't an answer but i just wanted you to know that you are not alone. I tried letting him cry it out but i get far less sleep that way then if i just nurse him and put him back to bed. He gets up at 5 am every day and naps 1.5 hours max a day. Good Luck

I gave my baby a bottle only at night and she slept 7 hours. If you arn't giving him pablem i would defenitly recamend doing so. Just that little bit of food before bed makes a huge difference. And it is true bottle fed babies sleep beter.

Do you feed your baby before he goes to sleep, it may be that he wakes up hungary, wet or even cold/hot. We gave our son milk with cereal in it, it seemed to work. All though it took a few tries, hope this helps.

my son did this, too. I quit breastfeeding him and it went away. I know it sucks (pardon the pun) to hear it, but sometimes bottle fed babies just sleep better. i went straight to the bottle with my second one, and she slept through the night from day 1.

Give him a snack before he goes to bed.
