How can I set my computer back to original settings ?

I have the original cd's I got with my computer.I want to reuse them.Is there a reset button.? I have a 3 yr old HP lap top

You should be able to pop in the cd and then restart the pc and let it boot to the cd. Follow the instructions after boot.

Apart from reinstalling everything, I don't know of a way.
