Hey guys.

My sister received the keys to her new house on Thursday. The electricity meter is a pre-payment one. The problem is British Gas! She has called them several times since Tuesday as she has no electricity in the house (she has a baby of 8 months, also). BG have told her to get a pre-payment card from the shop and simply top the electric up... she's tried several times but it doesn't work. BG were supposed to arrive this morning to sort the meter out, they didn't turn up! She called them again and was told they'd be there in the next 4 hours... again, they didn't arrive.

She's already set the ball rolling to change suppliers, but of course this takes time.

So my question is, what can she do?

Thanks very much for reading this

KC

My advice would be to contact the citizen's advice bureau, as they shoud be able to give you legal advice and what kind of complaints procedure you could go through.

they are attempting to cost me £10 each and every week on my meter. i dont ever use that a lot as i stay to tell the story my very own in a 1bedroomed flat and that i'm no longer in countless of the time. i often use 30p-40p an afternoon maxium and all of unpredicted the meter is going down by means of over £one million an afternoon. i rang up and that they pronounced it replaced into as a results of fact my meter hadnt been replaced for 3 years so i owe £113. i defined that i'm on the 2nd unemployed and that i in basic terms get £eighty a fortnight and that i cant upward push up with the funds for to placed that a lot credit on my meter with my diverse costs to pay. they pronounced it replaced into difficult and that i ought to pay it shrink lower back besides. i havent even lived in that flat 3 years. i emailed them and that they disregarded it. i actually dont understand what i might pick to do now.
