When spring cleaning. . . .how do you know what to keep and what to throw away? I mean I have several 'gifts' . . . . knick knacks from friends and family that I just have no place to put.
Is it rude to get rid of some of them?
I am really struggling here. I have a whole box of things that I don't want as a collection anymore or that don't fit into my decor.
Do you keep them anyway and just store them somewhere in case the person who gave them to you asks where it is????
I don't want to hurt anyones feelings, but I can only keep so much stuff! Please help!

If it's just some small stuff, it shouldn't really matter. If it is something really special, and means something to you, then you should keep it out or store it away!! Some of the things you get are worthless, and don't mean too much. If it's something like a very valuable music box, or something that a relative who passed away gave you, keep it. The special things are what's really important, not the little things.

If it is new, I re-gift if I can mail it out of the area and is is worth re-gifting. Sometimes I send it to the Goodwill. Memories are the best thing to hold onto. With the exception of Grannie's old tatting, child's first art-work, homework, hand print, clay pot, etc. All those go in a memories box and are stored in the garage way up high.
Keep in mind, holding onto junk can be a disease.
Say that ten times, and start making room for life today!

I would get rid of gifts that are more than a few years old. I "display" more recent ones for a while and then i find new "better" homes for them

It's okay to re-gift them. Just make sure not to give em to the ones who gave em to you

i'v had to since i was young so it doesn't bother me when i have to now. material objects should not stand in the way when you have to leave everything behind. love between you and that person should be all that matters
