You don't need qualifications!! Just an ability to act!!

Whatever you are interested in. To be an actress you need to have a full and rounded knowledge of life and a genuine interest in things. Do not limit yourself at school. However, you will probably enjoy Drama/Theatre Studies so take it. English is probably compulsary for you, maybe a language? History? These could help with Shakespeare. Art, or Media Studies could help, or Philosophy - although that may just be a GCSE, or A-Level choice at your school. My best advice is to just keep performing, in and out of school. Try for the NYT or NYMT, go to drama clubs etc. You will have fun, learn stuff and find out if acting is really for you. But, if you enjoy Maths, Science, P.E, Geography, and all the other great subjects available, just do them. You'll be a better actress for it!

I also want to become a actress when i grow up.Right now I am takin drama classes and alot of threatre classes also.I am hoping to one day work with Tim Burton just like Johnny Depp did I think about 5 times. He seems like a real fun guy.If you do succed I would really start off for drama, definetly drama classes.Acting is very easy if your not in a actual business.Think about it if someone asks you if you like their hat and you really don`t you say yes no matter what b/c if you dont you will hurt their feelings let someone else say it.You also save a friendship.

You should start an acting career early, not wait. Try getting a position at your local theatre. Taking drama helps, but it won't do much for you as a professional actress.

Try to get an acting coach and an agent.

it doesnt matter what subjects you take in year 9.

You need to go to college/uni/theatre school when you leave school.

Following drama at school isnt really the way to go. I was left out of all productions at school, i did drama outside of school and i've done loads better than any of the stage school luvvies.

Agents wont be interested in any school subjects you may have taken.

If you want to act now, try going to community theatre, or drama clubs outside school - its all experience, but it wont necessarily get you to where you want to go....

I'm in that game my self and I know from experience that what you do in school means diddly squat. The only way into the industry is a lot of determination and a thick skin. Rejection is an occupational certanty if you cant take it dont bother trying.

Qualifications are of no use at an audition. If you can act well, you will have a chance. Drama school may help. Not all successful actors went there. Determination and luck are the main requirements.

You can start taking acting classes now. If your school has a drama department, join it. When you graduate from high school, choose a college that has a good drama department.

Drama, obviously but then make sure you really study English because you'll need that more than you'll need Drama. You can't really be taught to act, you either have it or you don't, but you can learn to retain information (lines) and if you know the classics, you'll do well in theatre.

Theatre studies or drama (whichever your school offers) English, music and dance.
These four subjects will cover everything you need in terms of education and background for acting.
