It means if you see her picture on TV you should change the channel! Stay Away!

Edit; It means that you have the Court stating that any violation of this order will be construed as contempt of court and is punishable by jail and fines and if necessary, other charges including felony depending on the nature of the violation. Courts and Judges do not take kindly to someone ignoring their orders and will respond negatively in most cases.

It means that you need to list the specific times or dates and the actions that the other party performed or threatened to perform that made you fearful for your safety or those in your cusdody (ie: children or parents).

In a nutshell, you can not simply ask a judge to issue a restraining order on another person (he or she has rights also). You must demonstrate that the other person has acted in such a manner as goes beyond that of normal social interaction and has caused you to become concerned for you (and yours).

For example, simply calling you on the phone and calling you a name is prob. not a reason. REPEATEDLY dialing you on the phone and calling you names IS.

Walking by your house is not. Walking by your house over and over or standing in front of it might be (think of picket signes and such - ie the right to assemble). Simply standing and staring at your house for hours or multiple times with no other action involved is not (ie: Stalking).

Its up to you to show the judge what the other person is doing by citing specific instances.

understand??
