The South will rise again! Of course it will be real slow and take a long ******* time. Then we will have to give them something to instead of picking cotton.

It seems like it to me too. South Carolina and Mississippi (the two quintessential emblems of the Old South) always come in dead last in anything measuring state of life. Dead last in education, government finance, job creation/attraction--they always lose.

As far as theories as to why that may be. It might actually have to do with racism; losing out on some of the best minds they have to offer because some of those minds belong to those with darker skin (and racism usually goes hand-in-hand with sexism as well--so they are losing out on some of the best female minds as well). Continued racism also shows an unwillingness to change and adapt to the times; it may translate into other areas as well, including financial savvy and ability (they are unwilling to adapt to a changing economy and take on the "new thing," instead preferring to always stick with the old). It may even just be coincidence; the most racist also happened to be located in the place with the least resources (though I don't think this one to be it myself).

The only other thing I can think of is that racism is often associated with backwards thinking (and rightfully so). Which means that those who can help these racist states move forward (the top names in various businesses) are unwilling to associate themselves with the "backward" inhabitants of these states (just because they live in a heavily racist state doesn't mean they are the racist ones). Because of this the members of these states have no one willing to buy or trade with them and they fall by the wayside; which of course ends in everyone being poor in these states.

The accomplice conflict Flag (it fairly is the right call for what's maximum normally mentioned via fact the accomplice Flag, there have been a number of flags accompanied to characterize the Confederacy) is basically an emblem of racism via fact specific racist communities have accompanied it as considered one of their symbols. To descendants of accomplice Veterans, the two black and white, it represents a southern way of existence (which did no longer have something to do with slavery) and a history that they go with to undergo in strategies. that's unlucky that specific communities have attacked it as a racist image. With that mentioned, i visit assert that the conflict Flag would not belong on a flagpole flying from any U.S. government development. If we would desire to undergo in strategies our history interior the south. Why no longer go with the 0.33 national Flag of the Confederacy? It replace into, in spite of each and every little thing, the suited version and a greater ideal image of history.

I have seen more blatant racism in your precious blue states than I have ever seen in the red states.
