I waitressed my way through college at a sports bar and i got hit on a lot. It got worse as the night went on with everyone getting drunk. I learned though that if I wanted good tips I would just smile and go on unless it got "grabby". Then I would tell the bar manager and he would take care of it for me. All in all though I had a lot of fun at that job. The guys really valued my drinking opinion and I learned a lot of new drinking games. I had a lot of laughs there.

Yes. I was a waitress and a cocktail waitress while I was going to college. I got hit on a lot. Sometimes, the guys were interesting and other times it was plain annoying. As a matter of fact, almost everyone I worked with has gone out with a customer at least once. If you're not interested or have a boyfriend just let them know that you're flattered, but you're already taken and really love your boyfriend. Keep smiling and doing your job and you will be just fine. That way no one's feelings are hurt and you still get a good tip. Good luck on your new job.

My roommate bar tended and waitressed for years working her way through college. Even with her tieing her long hair into a bun, not wearing much makeup and doing the "sensible shoes" routine she was constantly given the "come-ons" by men... the more alcohol they drank the more aggressive their advances got. What I found funny was that she and I often would be out shopping or on a night off hanging out at another bar and ran into the same guys and they wouldn't even look at her much less make passes... go figure. Just keep your cool, your self-respect and let your managers know if things ever get beyond what you should have to cope with. You're within your rights to let anyone know you are there to serve beverages and food... and you're not on the menu. Good Luck.

This could happen to anyone. But yes bar waitresses tend to get hit on because of their drunken customers.
