I have a PhD from the University of California at Berkeley.

My advice is that if you want a PhD you should go to the best school that you can get into. So -- yes, I do recommend Berkeley for most disciplines.

Besides Professor X, no one else has a Ph. D on YA! because they're out there with their research and stuff.

Yes, I do hold a PhD, but it would be pointless for me to recommend my university to you, since I do not know your field of study.

Students choose doctoral programs by each specific department faculty's reputation, not by the university's reputation.

So if your field is different from mine (Religion), information about the program in which I earned my PhD would have no value for you.
