The TOP TOP in the nation is generally regarded to be U of Chicago, then NYU and then you start to see a lot of smaller liberal arts colleges in the ranks. But, to do great journalism you'll want a master's degree or tons of in the field experience (which you won't get without a master's or knowing people in the biz pretty high up). And the best places to get a masters in mass comm are from those same universities listed above.
