I'm assuming you're a recent inductee into the world of womanhood! Welcome and congratulations.

As for answering your question, your cycle is not guaranteed by any means. Some women have periods every 2 or 3 weeks, while others have only 2 or 3 periods a year. Each person is different.

A "normal" (which is to say "AVERAGE") cycle is 28 days from the first bleed day to the last day before your next bleed day. There are those -- like I said -- who have periods that are longer and shorter than 28 days. (Averages are attained by taking all the women, adding up their cycle days and then dividing by the number of women researched.)

I'm also assuming you're not sexually active, so if you're just starting your period, and you're not having sex, there's very little to worry about. You may skip 2 or 3 (or more) months before you have another period, but chances are that by the time you're about 20 you'll have a very regular cycle, be it 22 days or 40 days or anywhere in between.

Period length varies between people, but 28 days is an average, with some women taking longer, and some shorter. A lot of different factors come into play when it comes to this type of thing, such as age and sexual activity. Younger girls tend to be more irregular until their bodies develop further. Also, a missed period can be a sign of pregnancy, so if you are sexually active and did not use protection, that would be something to look into as well.

No. A woman's period comes anywhere from 26 to 34 days. I would not worry. Some woman even skip months. You don't say how old you are, if you are young and have not been having periods for long, it is not unusual for a woman to have irregular periods.

For the first year or so you will be irregular and this is normal. Also not everyone gets their period exactly at 28 days. Mine was anywhere from 32-36 apart and varied each month.

When you first start to get your period, it will come at very irregular intervals. Your body is still trying to regulate your cycle. It is perfectly normal.

it's ok sweetie, one of my friends went three months without her period (virgin), and she was fine. It's just your body adjusting to hormones. Try eating some fruit (comfort, and can help with bloating and cramping), and just relax. If it gets to be three months or so, see a doctor, just to make sure all is well.
