i have a rogers digital cable box and i want to no if i can use a DVD recorded to record digital cable

yes you can...I record sattellite all the time. You need a seperate ouput on the back of the cable box that hooks up into the dvd recorder so you can see the same on both the dvd recorder and cable box

Yes, easy. Just buy a "Y-splitter" for the video cable connected to the output from your Rogers cable-box. So you'll have one cable connected to your cable box output going to the Y-connector that splits it into TWO video cables. Connect one of those cables directly to the video input to your TV. Connect the other to the video input to your DVD Recorder. Now you can watch the cable box on your TV and simultaneously record the video on your DVD recorder. Hope that helps.

You can record from a digital cable box in two ways, you can record your content when it is connected as regular TV, or you can record through firewire if that is an option for your recorder.
