I thought it would hold more. I use limewire to download and use Itunes to put them on my Ipod. What am I doing wrong? I have a friend that can fit 200 songs on her 1GB Ipod. Mine is also a Nano not sure if that makes a difference. TIA!

first of all, check the file sizes of the songs you are downloading. if they are around 6-7MB a song, they're in 320kbps encoding and you need to look for smaller files. if they're small files, make sure nothing is stored on the device's hard drive (files, etc). if that doesn't work, then you may have a hard drive issue, but most likely its the file size. look for 192kbps ecoded songs (good quality and still relatively small, vs. the crappy 128 or the giant 320).

You've got to downgrade them to a lower sound quality. Also, take off any pics you have on the iPod.

those must be some high quality songs. try something like a bitrate of 128 not 1,280,000
