They suffer from being taught confusing religious doctrines that make them believe in lies that do not make sense. Hypocrisy in religions and governments has cramped people's faith even further. True religion is a way of life and not just an hour of church on Sunday so the people are being distanced from their creator and it's causing them to suffer.

they are suffering in every way. if you can think of a torment, someone is living it.

physical
emotional
spiritual
sexual
mental
liberty

these are all areas that are abused
(not to mention hunger and disease)

p.s: communism may be rotten, but democracy isnt the perfect way either. in theory it is, but in practice it isnt. just look at George Bush telling the media that "I make the decisions here" in regards for Iraq. what happened to referendums and debate by the people as to the best course of action. democratic politicians say what they need to say to get into power, then do the communist thing anyway by making all the decisions for the state by themselves, for better or worse.

I think an easier question to answer would be: "What are some ways people AREN'T suffering around the world?"

Because the answer to the current question is almost limitless.

That's kind of an odd question... I guess some of the top things that come to mind are starvation, war violence/terrorism, cancer, HIV and other health conditions, poverty, discrimination and prosecution.
