What happened to the "Mastermind" of the September 11 terrorist attacks? Why did Bush & Co. focus the nation's attention on Iraq and Saddam instead?

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority. "I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

To justify the war, Bush informed Congress on March 19, 2003 that acting against Iraq was consistent with “continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.”

"No, we've had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with September the 11th,"- G.W. Bush, 9/17/03

Where's Osama been Hidin'? Well I would say most of us don't know but I believe George W. Bush knows. They were pals at one time.

However, if I were to guess I would say he is either in Pakistan, Afghanistan, or dead. I don't seriously think he's dead. Ill maybe but not dead. Nothing is going to happen to him until after January 20,2009. So he's feeling pretty safe, laughing his a ss off that Saddam is getting in trouble for what he did. (You know like little kids do).

Osama Bin laden is the El Cid of the conflict on Terror.. Terror needed a face and he became as quickly because it. If he's the mastermind on the lower back of the 911 terrorist assaults on the US why have not we hunted him down yet. We were equipped to seek for down Saddam Hussein in 6 months. It been 10 years and although no Osama Bin laden. style of make you ask your self whether we are truly circulate after this guy and if now no longer why? some thing purely does no longer probably make adventure good right here..

He is in Pakistan reorganizing and enrolling new recruits. He was last seen on the mountain ranges on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Pakistan has a majority population supporting terrorism while the PM doesn't thus he doesn't take any strong steps since there were assassination attempts made on him for imprisoning the scientist who past nuclear plans to Iran.
Both Al-Qaida and Taliban have been seen establishing their strong holds in Pakistan.
The PM of Pakistan had made a slip up in an interview, that he won't do anything to anyone as long as the Al-Qaida and Taliban play nice.
Public outrage for US and terrorist propaganda is increasing in Pakistan.
These were the same kind of activity seen in Afghanistan before Bin Laden became a power-player there.
He is regarded as a superstar in Pakistan.

We have not heard from him since Bora Bora. If he is not dead, he has got to be hurting bad and, as a man, he probably is not much of a threat. He had access to a lot of money, but seriously, he was never a "Mastermind", he was just a pathetic ingrate with a lot of hate.

The sad truth is the USA made him, the USA had to take him out, just like Saddam. What I don't understand is "Why do the US Taxpayers have to get stuck with the bill for the mess caused by people who follow men like these? Who is going to bail the US out for following men like Cheney and Bush?" You would think you could capture two men without causing the economy of two countries to fall back into the Dark Ages.

Pakistan would be my guess. It doesn't matter where he is as long as he is kept on the run. When running for ones life it is hard to sit back and plan attacks. I hope they catch him but even more important would be destroying his network and that has been pretty successful.
