i figured id ask some of the newborn moms this question
Im not sure if my water broke, i thought in order for it to break you had to be having contractions and such, but i had gotten really thirsty all of the sudden, so i got up to get water, and felt some leaking, so instead of getting water i went to the bathroom, the discharge was really watery and a milky/ light tan color, but nothing more, and when i cleaned up a bit, and sat back down, it seemed like more came out, so i got back up and checked, and it had, but it doesnt smell like urine, and its just too watery for comfort...but i dont feel any contractions, and just a slight dribble...and some pressure, like the baby is rolling around

Your waters can break before contraction begin...if you suspect that your waters have broken, you MUST go to hospital to be checked over, and possibly induced for your baby will be at risk of infection. Seriously, get off the computer and phone your hospital to tell them what happened- be prepared for a trip to hospital now!
Good luck!

It could be your water breaking, however it does not sound like alot of water, so it could be a hind water leak. At any rate get in touch with your obstitrician or the hospital. They will tell you what you need to do. Are you due or is this early? The hospital will probably ask you to go in for a check up to confirm what is going on, and decide what needs to happen next.
With my first my waters broke but I did not have contractions. I called the hospital and they told me to go in to confirm. They then said to go home and get some rest as it was around midnight. They said to call again if contractions started, but if not to go back in first up in the morning. I did this and after waiting a while labour had not started so they decided it was best to induce, as after so long the baby is prone to infections once your waters have broken. just under 5 hours after being induced my little girl was born with no further intervention. With my second I had what they called a hind water leak. Same deal, did not have contractions and had to be induced, this time however they also had to break my waters, and 4hours later my son was born with no further intervention.

I think it would be a really good idea for you to not only call your doctor, but go to the ER. It's okay if they send you back home, but you'll rest easy knowing exactly what the discharge is.
It could be your water breaking though. Amniotic fluid is more watery than any other discharge. So I think it's best if you go to the hospital and call your doctor on your way there!
Hope this helped!

WOW - thats sounds just like what I had with my last baby in December. I went to the nurse midwife to get checked out and I wasn't in labor and my water did not break or leak - it was some weird stuff coming out just like you're describing. Well, the next day - I went into real labor. You may be closer than you realize. I would get checked out to make sure your water isn't leaking because if it is you're at risk for infections and challenges with running low on fluid that can hurt baby.

You should probably call your doctor but, I don't think your water broke. You may have lost your mucus plug.
I thought my water broke(it had not) when i had similar "symptoms" during my last pregnancy and my doctor had me come in to be checked out.
When i did go into the hospital to have the baby and the nurse broke my water, it was not a dribble, it was a small gush and then continuous small gushing the whole time.

I think that it could be leaking, not actually like a burst of water. If you are unsure, you could call your doctor/midwife and double check. Once the water does break, I think you can expect contractions to start pretty soon. How far along are you?

CALL YOUR DOCTOR NOW! It sounds like your water broke, and contractions are on the way. Your doctor will want to record the time so that she can make sure that you deliver within an acceptable timeframe without infection setting in. Good luck!

Call the doctor you are having a baby. I didn't hardly have contractions, or at least feel them on my first until I was almost fully dilated. Then they were strong. So you may be having contractions and not know it. Good luck and remember to breath.

you should pay a visit to the ER. Two things, your time has come and you are ready. Not all births present contractions, during some all you feel is pressure around your pelvic area, discomfort down there, or pain in your waist.
