Lucius Malfoy! Jason Isaacs did an incredible job bringing his character to the screen. Ever since watching "Chamber of Secrets" I've adored his character. He just embodied the utterly ruthless, condescending, wealthy, Pureblood, aristocrat that Lucius is supposed to be. He makes evil very sexy; from that imperious gaze, to his dangerous growl, to his displeased sneer. Even in the books alone, Lucius's character is most realistically evil. He does the wicked things he does with full awareness of his actions. He is intelligent, powerful, and devious. He uses his talents and money to charm and bribe people and influence them to his way of thinking. Of course, if that doesn't work, he doesn't hesitate to threaten, torture, or do what ever is necessary to bend people to his will. He has supreme confidence in himself and his abilities. He is always decisive and unrepentant in his actions.

Unlike other evil characters, such as Voldemort, Snape, or Bellatrix, Lucius has a family that loves him. He has a loyal wife that shares his ideals and a son that admires him and tries to please him. He is motivated to be evil for different reasons. He just seems to lust for power. Voldemort is a sociopath, Snape wants respect, and Bellatrix is a fanatical follower of Voldemort. I can't say that I'm impressed with people that do evil things because they are crazy or just following orders. Lucius on the other hand, has his own agenda and does what he does because it pleases him to do so.

Incidentally, I don't consider Draco to be an evil character. I think he has a bad boy thing going on, but he hasn't tortured or killed anyone like Voldemort and the Death Eaters do. It is true that he tried to kill Dumbledore (on orders), but only the last attempt was up close and we know how well that turned out. The worst he has actually done to Harry was taunt him, break his nose, and attempt to send him back to London on the train. He could've used the opportunity to torture or kill Harry while he was unable to defend himself and had no witnesses, but didn't. He may be mean, but he isn't evil.

Draco Malfoy. I think, strangly, he is the most relatable of all the evil characters in the books. Voldemort,Bellatrix and Snape seem like the absolute sociopathic extreme which is beyond comprehension, but Malfoy is just an extremely, extremely obnoxious, angry teenager.

Bellatrix Lestrange...she is deliciously evil...she takes pride in the wicked things she does and she has no conscience...thats the most intersting thing about her...she would do anything even kill her own family to prove her loyalty...scary and fun to read!
