I sure wish people would use the spell check that is available to users of Yahoo Answers....

Is it just me, or do other people skip questions that apear to be asked by absolute morons, or under educated people?

I notice that a lot of bad spelling comes from first timers. Sometimes I think they think this is a chat room. With this spell checker, it does not do that well of a job. My spelling is horrible and I'm forced to use it all the time. The only problem is I'm Canadian and some of our words are spelled differently so the spell checker is trying to correct it and we fight back.

I overlook spelling. I suspect (but don't know for sure) that it's an age thing.

I was a hippy when I was a teen. Unlike some, I gave up my silent protest when a solid clear-thinking American patriot was elected president in 1980.

I think it's a very real possibility that today's youth see the absolute mess our generation has made of the country, and this is one of the myriad ways they're trying to set themselves apart from us. They're forming their own subculture, their own way of doing things. You and I may think they're re-inventing the wheel, but you know what? The wheel we invented isn't working so well these days.

God bless the young people who are establishing a wall of separation from the corruption of our generation. May God lead them as they find their way away from sex, drugs, homosexuality and the kleptocratic form of government our generation has allowed to engulf us.

Theirs is a generation raised with computers. Phonetic spelling is a nuance of their way of doing things.

You can accept it and them, or you can throw the baby out with the bathwater. Connect or disconnect.

The choice is yours.

So the question you have to ask yourself is will you accept them unconditionally, or reject them because they're not like you?

And your question was actually quite 'well asked' because you used 'phonic spelling' instead of English spelling ... but I try to answer every question with a 'good, solid answer' even if I think the questioner is 'poking fun' for the simple reason that someone who HAS that question for 'real' may read it and find that my answer does some good. And 'apear' is actually spelled 'appear' ... you forgot to 'spell check' before you submitted your 'extended question,' didn't you?

Spelling ability is one of the disappearing abilities as we change from a first world to a third world culture.
Also morons have many more questions to ask then smart people so you are going to get more of them then intelligent people who know how to search the Internet for their info.

What's funny is...they spell absolutely horrible, but then get all defensive when they get criticized. Some are so bad I don't know how they expect any answer at all. And then you have the kids wanting to know how to access myspace from school but can't spell to save their lives. See something wrong with that?
