The all-star is all about excitement and entertaining events. Jayson williams isnt entertaining anymore, plus he's been injured. Steve francis has been out with a severe sprained ankle. iguadala was there last year to dunk it out. vince is there but in the dunk contest b/c only rookies and 2nd year players can enter.

It's partly about excitement, but it's also partly about rewarding players who are having terrific seasons, regardless of whether or not they are "exciting" to watch, or not. The league uses the event for more then just an exciting showcase of it's talent, but also as a reward to players who have worked hard to make themselves all star caliber selections. In otherwards, it's much more then just a popularity contest, but I know there are alot of fans who would like for it to be exactly that, because all there interested in are the fancy dunks, and the flamboyant behind the back passes. BORING!! I want to see a guy set a hard screen, play tough defense, make the unselfish pass, or dive after a loose ball. That's my idea of exciting. I'd rather watch David Lee, or Ben Wallace play, then say Carmelo Anthony, or Vince Carter (two players in my opinion, that will never win titles, because the game is all about THEM).

Well the fans vote so whoever is in the All Star game, the fans wanted. I have to say that dunk Iguodala had where caught the ball off the back board, with his arm all the way back at 9 o clock, and slammed in the tip in was the sweetest dunk I've seen this season.

if that was the case i believe raefer alston should be in it since he is more entertaining to watch then j will. but the all star is about the peoples choice. no matter how fancy they are if they arnt the people's champ then they have a slim chances of making the squad. plus there are too many good ballers to even pick from

because it is who the fans want to see not just one individual. i no its not fair because shaq only played like 15 games this season and led the east center in votes. are you kidding me? and mainly it is all popularity contest too. baron davis is better in assists, points, rebounds, and steals than tony parker and whos in the all star game?

because the fans didn't vote them, if you liked them so much, why don't you vote for them
