Me and a few girlfriends are going to Vegas on the 23/24th and we're looking for a place to stay for cheap...
We have no problem crowding into one room, we're just trying to save money (that we'll end up spending on booze haha)... any suggestions or places with great discounts?
We're students, we've got AAA... any discount helps... but everything that weekend looks like we'll be spending about $450 just for the two nights (for one room!)
Thanks! :)

My favorite sites to check LV room rates
http://www.travelworm.com >usually the best
http://www.i4vegas.com
http://www.tripres.com

for hotel reviews

I found these rates on travelworm
El Cortez - $50 - Downtown, if you really want to save money? this one isn't a dump, but, it's not convenient to anything and it's not 4 star that's for sure...

Boulder Station - $95 - on the Boulder Hwy, nice place, rooms are nice>nothing special , large fun casino, nice buffet and a really nice mexican restaurant.

Frontier - $141 - North end of the strip, the $141 will get you a 1br 600 sq ft suite, this place is pretty blah, I would not recommend this one, I just thought I would mention it because it's a 1br suite

Excalibur - $176 - Good location>Tropicana and LV Blvd S - close to MGM, NY NY, Monte Carlo, Mandalay Bay, Luxor. Excalibur is not great, it is big and it is clean..

Platinum - $199 - this is not a "casino" hotel, it is located on Flamingo, 2 blocks East of the main hotel cluster. What it is, is a really nice 900sq ft suite, with a kitchen..This would not be a bad choice at all for a group, it is big, it is nice, it is close to the action.

Luxor - $244 - This is one of coolest hotels in LV, the tower rooms are a little larger but I like the Pyramid rooms. How often do you get to stay in the worlds largest Pyramid. Nice rooms, incredible atmosphere, great architecture. Nice location. Night club Ra is one of the best in all LV..This one is #3 on my list of must see hotels in LV, behind Caesars and Venetian

Flamingo - $245 - Great location>middle strip - rooms/hotel is just okay, nothing special, casino is a little boring. It's the wrong time of the year to take advantage of the Flamingo's best feature, the swimming pool area is one of the great pools of LV..All Harrah's hotels, of which the Flamingo is one, have a best rate guarantee, they will beat any online rate by 25%, (IF) you're will to follow all their rules...

If you're mostly interested in cheap, my choice would be Boulder Station and rent a car. If you want the extra space/large room and location Platinum would be the best choice. For location, it's a toss up between Excalibur and Flamingo...The best/cool hotel is the Luxor this one is memory maker..

Whatever you do, don't consider - you would be sorry!

Hell stay at the Motel 6 on Tropicana. It's basically across the street from the MGM Grand. For those dates they want $ 85.00 for two double beds per room I have personally stayed there many times and never had a problem with them . There also a Super 8 on the same property. You can also check the Days Inn Properties. Just don't use anything marked 7 9 & 10 on their little map.
have fun

Go downtown, the Vegas Club, Californian, Main Street Station and Fremont are all very reasonable. They are old, and a little grungy sometimes, but you are just going to use the rooms to sleep and shower.

Also, the gambling downtown has lower minimums, the Golden Gate has .99 shrimp and is a fun place to gamble. Just stay in the covered area, use the skywalk to Main Street, especially at night.

To go to the strip, buy a $5 day pass for the bus and take the double-decker bus.

Have fun.

There are lots of chain motels just off the strip, all of which are an easy walk from all the action. Check the websites for places like Super 8, Motel 6, Days Inn, etc. and you'll find lots of bargains.

Check out Tropicana's web site. They usually have good rates and it's a good location. Barbary Coast, an even better location, can have good rates, too. I know you said you are a group of girls...I'll throw this out there anyway. Hooters casino, right next to Tropicana, is giving some great rates lately.
