Turn the steering wheel slightly, either to the left or the right, as you turn your key in the ignition.

As bad as this may sound to you, it sounds as if one of the key pins has either broken off or has fallen out of alignment inside of the ignition module switch! If this is the case, then the whole switch will need replacing as it is not worth the expense to repair. If it's not that, then check by using a superglue remover available at hobby and craft stores on the ignition switch. If THAT works, then I'd suggest getting doors for your Jeep that lock!

Can you push in and pull out the key?
Jiggle the steering wheel a bit...while gently turning the key. Sometimes the steering will lock.

its because your steering wheel is locked turn the wheel as far to the left or right as you can then turn the key...
(to avoid this in the furture dont turn your steering wheel once the engine is off.)

positioned the biggest interior the ignition and as you attempt to teach the biggest, turn the wheel the two techniques confusing. quicker or later you will take the burden off the steerage wheel lock and the biggest will turn. do no longer do this anymore. It would not harm something, besides the undeniable fact that it could make the biggest confusing to teach.
