Have an Epsom for photo printing and a Samsung ml-1610 for general letters, however I have to get up and put envelopes on top of the paper. So got a second I want one for A4 (which I renamed) and one for DL But it won’t let me put the second Samsung on, when I install the disc it just wants to repair the first. Please help feel like I am going mad seems easy so why can’t I do it?

not sure. you could try connecting on to a different port or simply switch one off.
You can get manual parallel printer switches so you could swap printers at the flick of a switch. probable woudn't need to reload the drivers then.

mmm,this is a good question
the only way i can see you can do this is to first create two new folders and name them 1)printer set up 1 and 2) printer set up 2
then when you install each disc instead of copying the files to the default locations browse and send the first installation to printer set up 1 and then the second to the other folder
hopefully this may work as they are being sent to different locations, the problem came up previously because the files were going to the same folder
however if this dosent work i would contact the appropriate knowledge base on the companys website and post a question there, they are much more qualified than me to diagnose this problem, but give my theory a go,it cant do any harm
good luck

Don't reinstall the software there are 2 ways around this problem one is to use a parallel switch that lets you choose which printer to send the program to. The other requires you to install the printer again with a different name and then select in the software program you are using which printer to send the data out to. Remember this requires that all 3 printers be listed for use and on different ports. You also need to assign which printer is your default which is probably the 1610 with letter paper in it.

you shouldn't need to insert the disc for the second same printer as you already have the drivers installed but if you click on start then my computer and then my network places followed by clicking on printers and faxes you should see all connected printers and then you can rename one of them so that when so that when you to print an envelope just select the dl printer if this fails to work maybe you should buy a different printer so as not to get confused

I don't believe u can hook up 2 printers to run at the same time cause the computer asks you to designate which printer you want to run so try loading paper/envelopes in both and run your page printer then change designated printer for the envelopes.
When loading the software for the second printer make sure you enter the code and model number so the computer CAN distinguish between the 2 printers and make sure u are using the correct software for each printer.
Hope this helps. Good Luck
Peace Out

if you have a separate installation disc for both printers then you should be able to install them both on your pc. If it doesn't work then the best thing to do is to contact technical support.

You shouldn't need to install anything as the PC will already have the required drivers on it. Just add another printer.
