I didn't drop it or anything like that, and yes I tried oil. it is also not the valve, because my friend just tried it on his trumpet and it worked.

and when the valve is going down halfway, i have to pull real hard to get it out .

You need to unscrew the valve...you should be able to from the top. Get some mild dish soap and warm water, and a small bottle brush and just clean it...let it sit on a towel to dry off and finish drying it off with a smaller towel, then put a good amount of valve oil done each valve and screw it back in, then move the valve up and done to help circulate the oil. Usually the cause of that is not cleaning your trumpet and releasing the spit valve enough...so when the spit dries it makes it harder to move down the valve. I would clean your trumpet on a regular bases everyother month or every month depending on how much you spit. If it still doesn't work after thoroughly cleaning it, it may need to be replaced. But try cleaning it first:)

i would say dont screw with it go to spots or a music store and have them check it out so you dont ruin it ( no offence )
