& along the way,they can't see the person who really has true feelings for them.

They are selfish,and shallow and only swayed by the superficial things that seem pleasing about that person.If they had a true relationship with that person,you can almost bet it wouldn't last too long.They might start to hate the very things that seemed attractive in the first place.

If I could define and explain why we fall in love with the people we do...even if you can't have them for whatever reason, I would be bigger than Dr. Phil, Oprah, Keith Ablow and every other pop psychologist out there all rolled up into a babbling heap of self help, self love jargon!

I guess it's the saying of "You always want what you can't have." I'd consider it selfishness, but sometimes you just think that you can have him/her as easily as having the person falling for you.

like the other person said. we persue what we can't have and don't see what is right there in front of us that is just as good. but sometimes what we can't have is exactly what we want ourselves to be, or is our other half.

That is just life. I guess it also has to do with the fact that we all want what we can't have and enjoy the "chase."
