Hi. I'm a highschools student, and I revise before exams, I know most of what I revise. However, when I enter the exam, I cannot but help a feel a coldness, a feel of confusion. This causes me to write down pathetic answers (wrong answers). I know this because, after I've looked through my exam papers, I have made easy mistakes, and gone wrong where I shouldn't have. I know the stuff, but I'm not that confident to show it on the exam paper. What should I do? I can't really relax during an exam.

It is essential not to let the belittleling demon in your mind take over when taking an exam. Instead think of it as an opportunity to shine, Concentrate on the Question, break it down into bite size chunks and start writing. Only focus on your activities and don't allow yourself to be distracted by those around you who can seem to be doing better than you, finishing early and waltzing out of the hall as if they are sure fire grade A students.

You are the only person that counts in that exam hall at the time of your exam and so long as you have studied and prepared well beforehand, you should breeze through it and still have ample time to correct and polish your answers.

GOOD LUCK, YOU GRADE A STAR!

You have to practice ralaxing in stressful situations--there are many tools out there that can help you--guided imagery and visualizations are one way--imagine yourself easily and smoothly taking the exam--imagine the scene exactly as you would like it to be--see yourself calmly answering all the questions and then finding out your score--gettting a perfect score and then being happy about it..You can also do affirmations--write down these phrases over and over--I easily and smoothly pass all my exams with flying colors--I am always relaxeda and at ease when taking tests--It is easy for me to feel realxed and to remember all of the needed information during exams...etc...These will help you--

You can also make sure to eat healthy foods the night before the exam--to eat a good breakfast--to get a good night's sleep--to wear your favorite clothes etc--basically do things that make you feel relaxed, healthy and confident

Good Luck:)

pretend the exams don't mean anything and don't count towards anything i know this is easier said than done, but honestly the reason you become confused is because you are so worried about what will happen if you fail but if you act as if you don't care if you fail (that doesn't mean no revision) then you are more likely to do it as well as you would when you were just answering questions in a class room, good luck and hope everything works out xXx

i usually feel the same way. i am in exams right now too, but my dad always give me some coconut water to drink, and tell me to think of my pleasant successful moments in the past............chances are you are nervous the night b4 the exam also, it is good to get your min off of it by watching a comedy.....or if you can do a hand stand for 10mins............On the morning of your exams take deep breathes and exhale with a gush through your mouth, repeat this 5 or 6 time and you'll be fine.
But first and for most pray.

Try not revising before exams, just study it, and I am sure you'll do fine. Once you start getting the better scores, you'll feel more confident.

Just relax and do some deep breathing exercises or something, and remember that you don't get marks DEDUCTED for wrong answers so even if you don't feel that what you are writing is correct jsut follow your instinct and write it anyway! the best of luck to you

just think of it like this.... 'im sure i know thw answers, take a deep breath, after all whats the worst that can happen you have to take a resit' more often than not if you have put the work in even with daft answers, you will have done enough to pass.
