I asked this last night, but no one seemed to really understand. I started leaking 2 nights ago, there was about 10 mils fluid and a tiny spot of blood. I went to the hospital and they told me that my water had broken, but had done so above the baby so had resealed. I am just wondering if it is likely to happen again, and if there is a higher chance of the baby being born early?

i thought if your waterbreaks that means you are already in labor? and if all that fluid in there leaks out? how is the baby going to survive with no fluid?? just doesnt seem right to me! i think you should call your doctor...cause if you saw a nurse! not all nurses will know..

I'm 38weeks pregnant this friday with my 2nd daughter, with my first daughter(now 2) I woke up one morning and had a show, I called the hospital and they told me to go in and be checked this was 8am on a friday morning, they told me I was 2cm dilated and they could see my waters had gone.(I only had a show, no glush or trickle) I went home, they said it would be ages, my contractions got stronger throughout the day and it wasn't until 2am the following morning I had to go to hospital as I couldn't handle the pain anymore. It wasn't until about 5pm that night, saturday that the midwife said she would break my waters, I told her the hospital told me before they had already gone and she said they hadn't(she broke them) from that point my daughter was delivered in about an hour. The midwife later told me that if any waters had broken before I was admitted to hospital then it would have been the waters above the baby, she said contractions can still follow those waters going but they don't have the same effects as your proper waters going.
Hope this helps. Good luck xx

There can be a possiblitly. My water leaked for an entire week before it actually broke. It would leak for a few days, then stop and then start up again. It broke at 34 weeks for me. Everything was fine and my baby was healthy and went home with me after 2 days.

I had that happen with my last. I was only 24 weeks along. It resealed itself and I carried my baby to 38 weeks until I had to be induced (and have my water broken) due to preeclampsia. They did tell me it would be weaker in that area but not to worry. LOL... like that would happen!! Good luck I hope this helps.

do no longer carry your breath. My first replace into brought about 7 days previous due, 2nd brought about 4 days previous due. 0.33 replace into brought about at 39w, 4d. And the 4th taken aback me via comming out on his own at 39w, 1d. assume to circulate to 40 weeks a minimum of. there is no telling while your labor will initiate.
