I'm shy but I'm also deaf so its pretty hard for me to meet someone. I have always found online the best way to meet people and have had many good experiences with online dating even if me and that person ended up just being friends.
Some people maybe are quiet people (as I am)... they like to keep to themselves so going to a bar, club, party is OUT of the question lol They'll rather just stay in and do something quiet. If you look for the same in a person, you'll have better chances of meeting them online since that's where a lot of quiet people seem to hang out these days :-)
You have a better chance to meet someone who shares your quiet interests and maybe go out once in awhile.
So to me... online dating and relationships make sense. Ive had a few :-)

It can make a lot of sense to a lot of people for several reasons. For example, I'm going through somewhat an on-line relationship with this married girl. Neither of us can have a "real life" relationship for the moment. Her, well because she's married to a man LOL...me, because I have a kid and his dad could try to take him away from me, he can use the whole "homosexuality crime" stuff...so, as you can see I can't have any relationships for the moment, so meeting someone on-line can work out meanwhile, you know...you don't feel lonely, you have someone to talk to, etc...

I think it makes sense. Some people are too shy to really meet someone special in real life until they get to know them, so talking to them online for a while will make it easier to talk to them in person.
But I don't know. I've only met a handful of people I met online, and I never dated any of them.

I think it does alot for many people to have online relationships. It can make alot of sense for alot of people. I know alot of people who have actually met online, then in person, and married. It's the wave of the future.

ive met people online an met them in real life . an they turned out what i expected an i was happy with results.... just be very careful meet in public places an never go to there house or private until you get to know then very well over period of time like any person

There is no such thing as an online "relationship." That is more accurately described as "typing."
A relationship requires communication in person between two people who have learned a mot about each other. So online chatting fails this test in many ways.

i mean if you really want to meet someone that you think is your true love. like on all these online dating sites.. ya kno. so i guess is it makes you happy..i dunno who would b happy with just talking with there lover on the internet not really knowin if they are telling the truth or talking AND seeing them in person.
I think it does make sense bcuz these days alota ppl live in fantasy,they want what is on tv n usually,that doesnt happen. so to satisfy their need.they date girls online n so do girls.
Really,in the end if you've talked to that person only on the phone or only on the internet your heart is gonna get broken.
It really just depends on the person.

im in one...my gf lives in NZ and i live n the states...i cant stand it cuz we are so far away but u have to put up with it....plus weve been together for 3 yrs so wats the point n given up now
