I wish the 'insurgents' had media scrutiny. Why don't they let the media 'embed' with them. Why don't they wear the uniform of a country, and stand for something other than death and destruction.
If the media who so easily denigrate the collected effort to destroy terrorism had the same coverage of the terrorists... oh wait, the inhumane pieces of crap execute them...

This war isn't beneficial to begin with. So your question is a second order question. The media shouldn't be there for the benefit of the troops, the military or the war. If it was actually doing it's job in reporting the truth on what is going on in Iraq, it would be for the benefit of DEMOCRACY. You cannot have truth in reporting when the media is embedded with the troops. You don't get the big picture of what we are doing to that country.
Sorry to tell you that without an objective media, there is no democracy. So when you say they should remove all media from the region for the benefit of the war itself. Well, the media isn't about the benefit of war, it should be for the benefit of democracy which is far more important than this damn f*cking war.

After observing a prepare referred to as Battlefield Breakdown the place troops, senior militia adult men, and government officers have been speaking related to the matters in Iraq, the physique of ideas of the pentagon, the shortcoming of coaching and kit, being thrust into circumstances they weren't experienced to accomplish and how issues are stretched to the snapping factor, i'd say they do no longer care. The chaos supplies them conceal and time to end getting the rights to Iraq's oil, even with each thing that's the actual purpose. no longer the rest is clever for our staying in Iraq. A self-holding democracy? do no longer make me snort or puke whichever the case may well be.

The media outcry that occurs everytime a coalition soldier raises his rifle at an ememy is not benificial at all for all our troops away from home. They go away to fight for their country, and come back villains. It's no wonder there are dramatic decreases in the number of young men signing up to join the British (and i guess American) armed forces. I happen to think it's a disgrace how our countries media, and indeed it's people treat our soldiers like scum when they are plainly scared sh!tless out there, and making mistakes that veterans of war wouldn't be ashamed to admit they make from time to time.

The American people do not support this war. The media may have a had a part in this, but even Bush has admitted mistakes were made.

As far as the media goes most of video coming out is from the troops with digital cameras or cell phones. And liberal is made to sound like it is something bad by you people. I am not anti American b/c I don't believe that your way is the best way.

Agreed. The main issue here is morale. The more the US doesn't support the troops the less morale they have. Same thing happened in Vietnam. The troops lost the will to win the fight due to lack of support. We must support them no matter what the personal opinion of the war is.

It would be undemocratic to deny the people of the United States information regarding the situation in Iraq, whether it is good or bad. It is the right of the many to know what the few are up to, and conversely as well; otherwise, we open our system to more corruption and manipulation (even more than now).

The media has no business in a war. No matter who it is, the reporting is going to be biased.

There is NOT constant scrutiny. The reporters are afraid to leave trhe Green Zone, so true coverage really sucks.
