Yes, No, Maybe So...it depends on the definition assigned to each key word in your question.
If ego is defined as an exaggerated sense of self-importance, conceit and over confidence...than it could be the opposite of anxiety by definition of self-consciousness, insecurity, and apprehension. However, this common word usage is not technically correct.
According to psychoanalysis, the ego distinguishes the self from the world and other selves. It is the conscious division of the psyche that best controls thought and behavior and is most in touch with external reality (i.e. reality principle).
The ego, as such, deploys defense mechanisms to safeguard the mind against feelings and thoughts that are too difficult for the conscious mind to cope with. If the ego should fail in its duty to ward off such stressors...anxiety results.
So according to Freud, an individual will exhibit signs of anxiety when the ego does not have the ability or resources to put appropriate defense mechanisms to use.

Ego is your sense of self, I don't think it has an opposite at all. People can have all sorts of egos.
Anxiety attacks can be brought on by stress from environmental factors (like you're late turning in a homework assignment so your teacher yells at you, and at home your parents yell at you for bad grades, and this all comes together at some point to create an anxiety attack). It can also be something you're born with. That kind of anxiety typically results in a lack of motivation, some confusion (your mind is racing faster than Dale Earnhardt Jr sometimes), and a sort of fear of doing whatever is causing the anxiety.

The ego is in conflict with the id over ideals and pressures, causing repression. It is the egos job to find balance between its drives, morals, and reality. The ego will create defense mechanisms, anxiety is one of the mechanisms designed to prevent one from engaging in potentially harmful behaviors. So sometimes anxiety helps the ego keep the id in check.

Boy oh boy, I guess you have never been rejected, or you would know just how hurtful it can be. Of course it hurts men, just like it hurts women. Rejection makes a person feel bad, it makes them question their worth. Rejection has nothing to do with feeling intimadated, it has to do with get your feelings hurt. Do you doubt that men have feelings? I don't. I have soothed many a hurt soul, gender doesn't make a difference. When it does make sense to you, you will have evolved into being a sentient being.
