My neighbour's dog has like a dog flap so goes inside and outside whenever he likes BUT he's barking outside at midnight.

If you can find your neighbours phone number call him every time his dog wakes you up and tell him why you are awake
He should get the message or if you prefer just ring it till he wakes up but do remember to with hold your number

My sister had a big dog next door that always barked at night she bought a "barkerbreaker" from the pet store it makes a loud noise when the dog barks but most quit real quick-just leave it by the fence and it should work-it may also wake up your inconsiderate neighbor-it is a little expensive though of course the best thing to do is talk to your neighbor-those doors have locks the other thing you can do is put some rocks in an empty can put a lid on it (like coffee cans) and when the dog comes out and wakes you up sneak down wait for him to bark and throw it at the fence-you may have to do it a few times but he'll get the idea-good luck

If it is a friendly neighbor tell them about it or slip a note in their mailbox. If it is a neighbor like I have slip a note in their mailbox telling them that the next time their dog wakes you up barking outside in the middle of the night you are gonna call the cops. They do have these things that they can slip into their doggy door to keep the dog inside.

be glad. the dog's barking to chase/warn intruders strangers away from your neighbours yard, which is also keeping your home safe. would you rather get woke up by a barking dog at midnight or wake up to a ransacked house in the morning?

Speak to the neighbor. Dog flaps usually have a lock on them so I am sure that they would lock it at a reasonable time. Any good dog owner will be happy to do this so as not to disturb others

I agree with roger.Everytime it barks phone your neighbour and tell him why you've woken him up.
If you don't have his number go round and bang on his door till he comes out each time and tell him the same.

If you are not on friendly enough terms to speak to your neighbour about this the only useful thing I can suggest is earplugs, you can buy foam ones from the Chemists and they really do block out the majority of noise - I used to work night shifts and couldn't believe how much they improved the quality of my sleep!

You can complain to the council. The council will make your neighbour keep the dog inside at night if it is too noisy outside.

hello! i've got the answer to ur question. do everything i say... when the stupid dog starts barking, u shot him! yes, u get ur shotgun and kill him...or, another solution, a little bit less dramatic (and u don't go 2 jail), is scream shout and laud 2 the dog..yes, bark 2! show him who's the boss...and later u phone 2 dogpound and they gonna catch him! or just talk 2 the owner of the smelly dog! any other question?just talk 2 me..i'll help u!
