My baby is five months and I give her anything that interests her. Her favorite toy is a thing that hangs over her on the floor on a stand and plays music and she cant bat at the toys. I leave the tv on in the living room on the kids channel and let her lie under her toy and she has a soother..sometimes I can get an hour of peace with her under that toy. Also her baby swing works once in a while cause it has a musical mobile over it that makes sounds and lights. Then if that wears off I put her in her jolly jumper for fifteen minutes or so..or else I sit her on the floor and give her the remote control to play with because she finds it very interesting. My baby sleeps alot..as soon as she starts to get cranky and she is fed and changed I know shes probably tired so I wrap her up really warm and she falls esleep..she is sleeping more then she is awake..if she rubs her eyes or looks very content like shes going to sleep she will..sometimes seh falls esleep on the living room floor under her toy too. I play with her a lot too but I do manage to get a lot done when she is here.

At 5 months old, he's probably more interested in YOU than anything else. I know that doesn't help when you're trying to cook, eat, or shower, but it's the truth. He might be more interested in the toys he has if you were showing them to him and playing with him. My daughter liked mirrors, too.
