System resources have nothing to do with hard drive space. It means you have more processes running than your system can handle. Either close down some unused programs or reboot your computer. I vote for the reboot as it is always possible some program did not shut down properly and is causing the low resources.

Low system resource messages are usually associated with Windows 9X. Here, there are two 64 Kbyte tables (Heaps) that store details of resources being used. The one for graphics (GDI) has details of such as program drawing functions, like brushes and pens, and image bitmaps, like icons and buttons. With too many applications running, the heaps can become full, resulting in the message or a system crash. To avoid this, close some applications.

The worst condition comes under the heading of "Memory Leaks" where applications fail to release resources on closing. Here, the only real solution is to restart the PC. This problem is often seen on systems which are not switched off overnight.

Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html

Most of the time when i service PCs with this error it is caused by virus's or extremely loaded down with spy ware(Those programs that almost every site you visit puts on your computer so they can get marking information about you) In resources i will list a free home use anti-virus and then purchase a spyware program and run it regularly.
