Brokeback Mountain was a very touching movie. It had such a gripping story behind the fact that it was about "gay cowboys" but it was a love story. My husband forbid me to bring it into his house he's as anti gay as they come but it won so many awards that i had to see what the hype was all about. The ones that are like its gay or its about gay cowboys its gross, well those are very close minded individuals and they either didn't see the movie and are basing there opinions on word of mouth or they watched it and didnt get it. Its was very touching love story whether its male and male, male and female or female and female. If you havne't seen it watch it its a great movie.

I am not an Aussie either, but the movie was a great love story. They way it all began was a little far fetched. No leading up to it, just BAM. I have a hard time believing that. However, after that it turns into a powerful love story. It was done very tastefully in my opinion. People who love each other but can't be together...very heart wrenching.

Sorry I'm in the states.
Saw it, thought it was an excellent drama- a bit long and boring (no pun intended) but very well done. Best picture? Not quite, but certainly worthy of the nomination. The wife & father-in-law were outstanding.
Just had to avert my eyes a few times, since the mano-a-mano thing doesn't appeal to me...

So much hype for no reason. A love story, just like any other. Reminded me of The Notebook, sad.

I loved broke back mountain.. I mean it was amazing.. not cuz i thought it was hot to see two boys kiss.. but it was sooooooo heartbreaking.. when jake gillenhall was like " I wish i could quit you" then in the end he gets the living hell beaten out of him till he dies.. I cried.. seriously.. bawled like a little girl.. it was sad.. but the movie was good.. I wish i had something as sweet as those two had *sniff*

I'm not Aussie but I think they went too far in degrading the American cowboy tradition and legend.
