At my first ultrasound (which was at a hospital because of bad cramps) they said i was a lil under 12weeks, but i cant help but think that is way off, i have always thought i was further along, even when i first found out i was pregnant and now acording to them i should be almost 16 weeks, and i look like i did at 6 months with my 1st. Is it possible they could be a month or so off when looking at the ultrasound? or is this just somthing i have stuck in my head that couldnt possibley be true?

as you get futher along in your pregnancy..its harder to determine the exact age of your pregnancy...when i 1st went for mine i thought i was 6 weeks..but the baby measured to be 7 weeks..soo i just stayed with that! have your doctor check your fundal height (i believe thats what its called) and measure the size of the uterus..and could tell you how many weeks you are! and i have also read that you start to show alot earlier after your 1st pregnancy! b/c the muscles and ligaments in you stomach..are already stretched..but dont quote me on it.. hope this helps!

my first ultrasound said i was due may 25, now at 27 weeks, i am due may 17, and that might get pushed up because my uterus is measuring bigger, so its basically an estimate from the beginning, but based on when u ovulate will give more accurate results, and usually that wont be determined until maybe the second ultrasound, i ovulate every 25 days, so my baby was conceived only 7 days after my period started as opposed to the normal 10-12 days.

Yes it could be wrong. My doctor insisted that my due date was July 29 from the first sonogram, but I was growing so fast and was feeling stuff earlier than my date suggested. I was in a car accident at 7 months pregnant, and they did a sonogram and said my due date was July 20. I gave birth on July 7th to a very healthy baby. I don't think any of them really know, it is only a guidline to tell you if you are almost there or far away from birth.

All the previous answers are right on the money- my second pregnancy I got huge quick..I was as big with him by 16 weeks as I was with my 1st at 40 wks!! Second pregnancies almost always show faster. Also, the fetus may just be of different size than what the gest. age is...My second always measured bigger and they had him due mid march for the first 2 ultrasounds, the 3rd showed him Apr 2nd- he came on Apr 7th.....good luck

Ultrasounds...although usually pretty accurate are just estimates and can be off. But just because you are a little bigger than with your first one does not mean you are farther along than what you think....your ligaments and muscles have already been stretched once so you tend to be a little bigger quicker with each pregnancy.

It is possible, mine was off by two weeks. Make an appointment to have it done again if it really bothers you.
