What are some pros and cons of being an only child????

Is there some reason you're in a hurry to know? You aren't planning on doing away with an annoying sibling, are you?
The cons are definitely not having anyone to blame for broken lamps and chores not done, and not having anyone to share secrets or experiences with. And being accused of being spoiled, even when you're not.
The pros include never having to wear hand-me-downs and never being compared to an over-achieving older sibling.
Not having to share toys is both good and bad, the bad part being not having to learn to share.

my best friend was an only child. she never did learn how to share and deal with other people on a social level as quick as you would deal with these issues on a day to day basis when you have siblings. she was spoiled also and still is. she expects all the attention while around people and they take notice of this. on the other hand it may be the way she was raised. i feel you can bring children into social situations ie:school clubs, church etc.. and not spoil them and have them grow up to be well rounded kids. so on one hand you don't have to share as much but on the other hand you get ALL the attention..

Pros - all the attention to yourself, no sharing, usually get spoiled pretty well, sole heir to family riches, solitude, organ donation match
Cons - no one to play with, no companionship, must take care of aging parents by yourself with no help, loneliness, selfish

Pros: you get all the attention, parents have more money to spend on you, you don't have to share your toys
Cons: you don't have anyone to play with, less opportunities to learn social interaction skills

I am one. No pros. Cons- No sibling to relate to when you are dealing with unstable parents and feeling alone...sniffle

Pro- you get spoiled.
Con- you miss out on relationships that you can only get from a sibling.
- you don't have anyone else to blame if you get into trouble!!
