the little baby will not crawl toward something scary, like a growling dog and will crawl toward something it perceives as friendly or fun like it's mommy or a toy or a puppy. they perceive and motor to the object....and if they crawl across something rough like rocks they will crawl around it next time....their perception grows with each motor experiment!

The studies that link not crawling with learning disabilities such as dyslexia are small and there are studies that prove the opposite.
