What can I do to restore some of my energy? I am in my 9th week of pregnancy and I can barely function during the day. I stay sleepy alot, even after a good nights sleep, I take my vitamins daily and try to eat healthy. Any suggestions would be great.

your body is adjusting to the pregnancy this will pass and come back again in your 39-42 weeks ....just rest, eat well and it will become easier in the next trimester....Good luck and congrats!

Unfortunately hon, this is the point when you are just plain going to be tired a LOT. You are now having to use your energy for two people. The baby is growing and its going to take up a ton of your energy. Good for you for being on vitamins and trying to eat healthy. All of these things will help. My best advice is just to take it easy on yourself. Allow yourself to sleep whenever you can and give your body a chance to do all of the things its trying to do for you and your baby. Later on if you still feel like you want to do something more, talk to you doctor about some low impact excercises that you can do while pregnant to help your energy level.

There is not really much you can do in the beginning of pregnancy to take the fatigue away. But it generally will disappear around week 12. so only a couple more weeks left and you should be feeling a whole lot better.

My first trimester was awful. I was so tired it was literally painful!!! I would go to bed at 8 or 9 in the evening and barely be able to drag myself out of bed for work the next morning. I would come home and take naps on my lunch break....i was miserably tired...Unfortunately that's just part of pregnancy. It sounds like you're doing everything right! You're going to be fatigued and tired despite what you do. Try to nap when you can and go to bed early!!

It does get better in the 2nd trimester (not tremendously...but a little more bearable)

Good luck!

Is there any way to sneak in a 20-30 minute nap? Maybe while your kids are napping or on your lunch break if you work outside the home? I know how you feel, I used to nod off at my computer at work when I was preggers. I'd get up, get a glass of juice or cold water, walk around a little. That seemed to help me.

Unfortunately, there isn't much beyond what you are already doing. Pregnancy is rough, and I was fatigued the whole way through my second pregnancy. And to add to it, I had a two year old at the time.

I wish I knew what to tell you. When I was pregnant I went through the same thing. I could have slept for the whole 9 months. I actually had to stop driving in my 6th month because I would get drowsy.

Best of luck!

Keeping active will help. Dont' laze around.

It's very common in the first trimester though so you'll probably just have to wait it out.

The beginning is rough - it will get a bit better soon. But remember - you are now living for two - your baby and yourself.
