I think it is dumb that Wal-Mart does not do lay aways anymore. Everyone is not rich

There is nothing you can buy at wal-mart that you have to be rich to afford.

If you want something, save your money in a bank (hey, you even get interest), and then when you have enough money, but what you want.

Wal-mart probably didn't feel like storing a ton of stuff for people that couldn't afford it. Imagine how many people put stuff on layaway and then never picked it up.

Based on your multiple posts about this topic, you are extremely upset by this. Instead of trying to get wal-mart to change their minds (a multi-billion dollar company), try looking over your own budget, and seeing where you can save a little extra money for the things you want.

My guess is that it was taking more labor to offer this service that they considered profitable. I also would think that the storage space to hold the items until pickup was needed for other things.
I can see that it created a problem for some people.,especially young family's that needed to put toys on layaway before Xmas.

Walmart will soon offer a credit card. They want the interest and lay-aways would hurt that. So imagine paying interest on cheap junk. No thanks
