On each of these days buy yourself an incredibly expensive gift. Way more than you can afford. Then tell him thanks for the lovely gift. If he gets mad tell him he has a choice,; he buys or you buy. I bet things change and if they don't you get some great stuff in compensation.

I would sit down and really talk to him about it
explain to him how it makes u feel
do u get him gifts for his bday or valentines day?
if u do ask him how he would feel if u just started doing that to him also
tell him how important it is to u
and as ur husband he should wanna make u happy and try to be more romantic on those days
tell him no such things as make-up days
those days are long gone
hey I was just reading other ppl's comments and I really think Koala 's comment is perfect to do. try that

As a man I hate responding to holidays with mandatory gifts. I don't give gifts that I don't feel like giving. End of story! I did more for my ex-wife than most of my friends did for their lady. She wanted a new bathroom so I remodeled ours. She wanted a new car and she got one. She wanted me to do the laundry so I did. We talked about anything and everything, which made us best of friends.

My ex-wife understood how I felt about holidays and never held it against me. Why can't you accept that he is not comfortable with this day? Valentines Day is commercialism personified. Couple show appreciation in all kinds of ways why should jump through hoops for this superficial day after marriage?

Hell I bought the cow!!! What more appreciation do I need to show her? Ok I could have omitted the cow statement!

But I can't believe he won't give you a hug or kiss or a hug and a kiss. Even I told my wife "Happy V-day". OK... there must be something wrong with the boy. Have him talk to me. I will set him straight.

Have you thought about having one of his guy friends talk to him? That always worked for me when my wife couldn't get through to me. She used the technique jokingly with my best friends to make a point but it worked. She would call Phil and say: “talk this boy before I kill him”. It was fun and affective. Phil would say: “don’t let have to come over and show your wife what it like to be with a real man”.

Tell him how you feel, but don't feel bad if he doesn't listen because some guys are just like that. If you feel like you need those gifts to make your relationship work then leave him cause if he does listen to you and starts giving you gifts or being romantic that won't last because he is not that kind of person.

Talk to him. Say you want to really celebrate Valentine's Day. Get him a present. If he doesn't get the message after that, then he's probably a worthless creep anyway.

It's just another day. Why expect him to do something? It's never a given and when you do get something, it's a kudo. Don't worry so much about it.

i went though something simular, my EX would always say i forgot or i dont have money cus i bought myself this new ???, you start to feel unloved, and lonley, and like your not worth crap. your self esteem gets lower and lower throught the years, you need to talk to him or move on. I stayed almost 9 year with my ex. and it has been a hellish road to build myself back up, to say HEY i'M WORTH nice things, hey i'm worth love, hey i'm worth it. Please dont get stuck in the same situation

Well, I think that you should talk to him, if it is 4 years in a row, then he must not know how bad it bothers you. Its worth a shot, good luck!!

Forget HIS birthday, fathers day and any other holiday that might pertain to him. Maybe once he knows how it feels, he will shape up a little.

In a NONconfrontational way, you should just tell him how you feel. Ask him to TRY to make an effort because it would make you feel special and appreciated. Remind him that you are not asking him to agree with it, just understand how you feel.
