I just found out that I am in charge of our family reunion this year.?
I realize it is a few months away but I like to plan ahead in order for it to be great. I need some good ideas for games/ outdoor things for kids and/or adults. I really want this to be fun.

What a great opportunity for you!
I love family reunions. I have been in charge before and it can be hectic, depending on how many people will be there.

How great would it be to have a poster with your family pedigree all lined out! I bet your family would be really impressed with that.

Games: We never really have organized games at ours. But, we do play games. Washers are always fun. As well as playing catch with the kids. Kids love games that involve water balloons or races. How about a scavenger hunt?? We always loved playing those as kids. Us adults usually sit around and talk, play cards, etc. Our family loves board games! Maybe some kind of family trivia. Just make sure the questions don't offend anyone.

I hope this helps! Have a wonderful time planning and enjoy yourself!!

There's lots of things to do!! Rent a campground area (not too expensive) so everyone can hang out in the area and cook meals together as a team! Have a water fight (teams on a field and go at each other, no points if you want!) Spin on a bat and run down the field with a bucket of water. THe purpose is to fill the big bucket at the other end (it's harder than it looks!) Have two or more teams of a few. Make everyone bring a pic and make a collage. THen have everyone guess who's who! It's hard in some of the older pics! Have frisbees and kites for the kids and even do a nature hunt! (Have stuff hidden in the bushes and do a relay with teams to find the items.) If you want even have prizes at the end of the reunion and a comedy open mike night around the fire for stories!!

We have a whole assortment of games for adults and children, that way everybody has fun.

Kids
1. scavenger hunt
2. water balloon toss
3. bingo (Adults hover around and help them with it)
4. sack race. (Where you have them put their feet in a sack and jump across)
and then we make sure every child gets a prize at the end so everybody is happy.

Adults
1. Auction
2. Bingo
3. raffle tickets (everyone buys some tickets for a dollar a piece and then we raffle to see who gets about 50% of the money. The rest goes into the family reunion bank)

And that is how we play the games and stuff :) And everyone is usually happy at the end.

We always play bingo at my family reunion. Everyone brings some prizes to donate to the prize table(toys, candy, vegtables, ect) and it costs .25 to play....(we have to pay rent for the building). ....both the kids and adults play together...

At another family reunion we play euchre and horse shoes.*have cards...everyone likes to play cards*

Waterballoon toss is always fun for all ages. A bucket of water and spoons for a water race.

You can have sawdust/sand (or another diging substance) and put some change in for the younger kids to dig in (start with the younger kids and then go up)

*also have a jars of candy to guess "how many"...the winner gets the candy*

If there will be young children, think of a jumping castle, cotton candy machine and/or slushees. If there are a lot of young adults, maybe organize a badminton or volleyball tournament (you can buy a cheap set at Walmart). If there are a lot of old people, think about getting horseshoes. Good luck!

Theres a game that I like to play with family every holiday we get together...Its called see who can get the drunkest and bring out the most repressed childhood memory that has to deal with the family...it cannot have anything to do with an outsider source i.e. failed relationships, school, work)
