- She can ask for a restraining order for what it's worth
- Use a telephone answering machine to screen the calls
- Turn off the ringer on the land line phone and turn down the volume on the answering machine. Visually check the answering machine to see whether anyone else has called.
- Get a cell phone and transfer the land line phone number to it.
- Contact the phone company regarding the harassing calls. File a complaint and get them to put a trace on your line. Once they narrow it down to him, the authorities will have the evidence that they need. My family had to do that once many years ago.

As far as phone calls go, my wife has a business associate who is a nice lady but kept causing overage charges on our cell phone. After the first month with $30 in extra airtime charges, we changed the entry in the cell phone directory to NO RING for calls from this woman (she only uses two different numbers to call from). Now all calls from this woman roll over to voicemail which costs us nothing unless we retrieve them. Problem solved. We get a little blip sound when she falls into voicemail and silence otherwise. She was calling 3-5 times per day with non-critical messages and questions.

Ask your fiancee what she wants. If she really wants him to go away, step in and make it so. Call him and tell him firmly that she is not interested in him and he must stop contact her immediately. Do not threaten him or say anything inappropriate. Simply say that you will alert the police if he does not stop. If he is really persistent, get a restraining order.

Be aware of how it is affecting your fiancee. If all is well with her then just ignore him (easier said than done) just don't play in to it. He's most likely just trying to get a rise out of either one of you mostly you, believe it or not. Or if you or her feel threatened by him physically (more than just a pain in the ***) then get a restraining order. Then every time he calls or whatever he does you can have him arrested. Most importantly don't get into an altercation with him, that's what he wants. Good luck....

You're screwed. You're havin a child with this woman? And she can't set boundaries?

Look, I think all of you are emotionally immature. You may not like that judgement, but you all are making your lives too complicated in my honest opinion.

If she was assertive, she would have told him to go away or she would change her phone numbers and email. You have no idea of what she is and is not saying to him, so my best guess is she is a kind of child herself.

I'm too old for this kind of crap.

Why is your fiancee still talking to him? Honestly, you should tell her that this sort of thing makes you very uncomfortable, and you'd like her to cut ties with this guy, if he can't accept that the two of you are getting married. If she respects you, she won't have a problem with it.

And what does your fiancee think of this? If she doesn't like it, I suggest calling the cops. If she feels sorry for him, and doesn't know what to do it's best to ignore him, or take him to a consular.

Communicate your feelings to her and be firm about it. It's not appropriate at all. If need be file for a restraining order. She needs to lay the law down to him once and for all and let him go.
