Hi! I'm 12, too, so you should have an insider's opinion.

Mostly, girls my age like shopping at Limeted Too, Justice, or sometimes Holister or Abercrombie. You can't go wrong with gift cards! That way, she can pick out what she wants. Since those stores are expensive,a 40 or 50 dollar giftcard would be good. Make-up in her best shade would be much appreciated by her.

If your girl is more into sports, think about getting her that new basketball, soccerball, or softball. Sports equipment is great.

If she's more on the brainy side, or just loves reading, get a 20-40 dollar giftcard to Barnes and Noble.

Candy is always good, too, 'cus everbody loves candy.

For a high-tech kid, a Nintendo DS, cellphone, Wii,or PS2 or PS3 would be loved. ESSPECIALY cellphone.

Since you said she changed so much, and you don't have an idea what she likes, you could buy her a giftcard at the Mall. She can chose ANY store, and just chose what she buys. Go to the mall customer service desk to buy one. Ussually one in 50 dollars would be sufficient. After that, taking her out for dinner at a fancy resturaunt would be nice.

Good luck in finding the perfect gift!

Well first of all it never hurts to ask her! Secondly when I was at that age up intill that point I could care less how I looked but when I got to be 12 I started caring more about clothes! Maybe you could get her a gift card to the mall. Here are some links to clothes you could get her:

American Eagle ( The most comfortable tee shirts in the world and thats all a 12 yr. old cares about fashion wise!)

Hollister (this is a cute shirt and doesn't scream a logo)

If you want to play it safe get her a gift card! For something thoughtful get her a blank album and a digital camera! She is entering some of the best years of her life and should capture the moments!

Get a Nintendo Wii , it is so cool! If that's too big then how about a gift certificate to her favorite store or an electric scooter/moped. They are under 100.00 at walmart now.

A mother/daugther date. Take her to dinner and maybe a movie or shopping. My mom did this for me one year on my birthday and it was better than any material gift.

If she is responsible and you can afford it an ipod. If not Cd's are always good. Clothes shopping together is always fun.

you can never go wrong with a stuffed animal in her favorite colour. also, try for a bag of her favorite candy, or maybe a movie she likes, but doesn't have on DVD, or whatnot... good luck!!
also, perhaps a game? and if that doesn't work, ask her what she wants...
