Yes and no, the only thing you have to watch is the power supply, every USB device has its own consumption.

You'll know when your power supply will be too light, some of your devices will seem to be faulty. When you reach that point, disconnect some of these USB devices.

i will not say that it is bad for your computer as such, but then ther are drawbacks to having too many devices plugged in to your pc. the main factor being the recources that are eaten by theses devices... the more you plug in... more are the number of device that your system has to keep track of, its even more evident on a mac cos it has to mount these devices and keep them live. thus, the system ends up runnin short of resources for other processes. if you are using mobile storage, you might also run the risk of viruses. You must also keep in mind that most usb devices draw power from the ports, this too is a burden on the system and at times if there is not enough power for a device, it might suddenly hang or give errors, at times even the system freezes.. So though it might not be totally harmful for your pc, the general idea might be to plug in only the devices that u need at that time... the more the devices, the more is the load on the computer.

Depends on what you mean by "bad". Will it damage the computer? Probably not.

can it cause problems like slowing your system down (too many things to keep track of) or other issues? Then yes. I had a problem with printing while I had my external hard drive plugged into one of my USB ports. It kept knocking out the USB communications with the printer every time I plugged it into the front USB port. (I also have a ton of other things plugged in).

Probably a resource conflict.

So in that case, yes it was "bad".
