There's a few reasons: it isn't cheap and all the others haven't played a game in 1080i. I think microsoft is secretly responsible for some of the bad publicity the ps3 is receiving. People have extremely short memories. Microsoft took almost six months to start rolling out solid titles while 360 fans sat with their thumbs in their rectums eagerly awaiting halo 3. I own both and both have their strengths and weaknesses. Just wait you'll see. Once the titles start rolling out into the marketplace, ps3 is here to stay.

Not knocking the PS3, but there are a couple of things that happened in the market to kind of "prejudice" people against the PS3. For starters, both Microsoft and Nintendo got their new game platforms out first, and in the case of Microsoft they really worked X-Box 360 Live HARD, so not only can people see and buy the new product, they can see what it is capable of through X-Box Live. There's a big difference between hearing about a new product and seeing it, especially in a market that is as competitive as video game systems. The other downfall of the PS3 is that Sony didn't meet its production goal of 500,000 units ready for sale by the Christmas shopping season -- last I heard, Sony was going to be lucky if they had 200,000 units in the stores before Christmas. This is just another major screw-up from a company that has already had one costly major screw-up this year -- remember the battery problems with the Sony laptops? -- and again, when such a huge projection is made and the company doesn't even come close to reaching it, the end result is that the new product gets a bad reputation.

they've done it on every ps system because people like to complain, it's just a second nature. You're right, the price is a little high for a lot of people but in the past playstation systems have had longer life expectancies so it's a quality thing. the thing that i dont understand is why the blu ray player because its not that much better and i would rather save a few bucks than pay extra for something i wont use. either way the PS3 is being hated for the low supply and high demand, prices , and people just like to. as for the games, just give it time.

I don't know, I don't have one yet, because the info on the date it was coming out, kept on changing.. Back and forth, I minuet they say it's coming out in 2007, then back to 2005 then to 2006 then at the end of 2006 then back to 2007.. I couldn't keep up with that, they couldn't make up their minds on when it wa coming out..
So, I thought I had enough time to save, until I found out it was end of 2006, or whenever it came out..
So, like everyone else, I got left behind and now I have to save and by next year I'll have the money to buy one, I hope..
But, the PS3 is great if you can get one.. but by then most of the good games of today, will be gone..

Im not saying its bad but most of the games suffer from camera angles lack of gameplay and bad graphics. Like the gundam game that game looks like ps1 graphics. IM just saying that if you have expirenced the ps3 and not the 360 the give the 360 worth a try it good very good

most of them r xbox fanboys. i would love to have a ps3, but 360 came out first and then i got the wii. i used to b a sony fanboy. now im neutral :). ps3 is damn expensive and right now only has resistance, but will soon have MGS4, killzone and comes with a bluray player so its actually a good buy. i doubt my parents would understand that. ive played the ps3, but havent seen one that was owned by someone. but the 360 has better stuff with xbox live arcade such as downloading demos, downloading xbox live arcade games, etc.

they are hating it because is expensive and it doesn't have any games that shows it's full capabilities. once the games like MOTORSTORM, HEAVENLY SWORD, LAIR, DEVIL MAY CRY 4, MGS 4, etc come out, then all those haters will be lining up outside the stores to get a hand of a PS3, just like i did when it first came out.

Good question. I have one and I love it, it's innovative and has awesome new and cool technology in it. I agree that out of all the systems, it's the only one that truly seems next-gen.
