I have been lifting weights for years, and running regularly for even longer, but lately I have been drinking more water than ever to fight some irritating dry skin, and I look and feel bloated, and I have gained 5 lbs. I thought water was supposed to help you lose weight! I'm a 26 year-od guy! Not a pregnant woman, and I'm pretty lean, and trying to get leaner. Should I hit the sauna? How do I lose this weight?

Have you increased your salt intake? Salt and chemicals like MSG make you retain water. Try following the Fat Flush Plan (a book you can buy) for a few days. It kinds of helps clean out your system. People use it for weight loss, but it's also a way to clean up your body.

there is a supplement called "EXPEL" by MHP and it allows you to shed excess water weight. If you are a weight lifter I am sure you eat alot and you are obviously aware of the effects of sodium and water retention. Potassium uploading for short periods of time can draw the water out of your muscles. I am not saying anything, if you are on any testosterone boosters (illegal or otherwise) you water problem may be linked to whatever you are taking. Certain creatine products, creatine monohydrate in particular may also be a culprit. Our weight can fluctuate anywhere between 6-10lbs. daily depending on our physiology.
