(not just from Mexico)
I realize since Mexico is just south of us and has been a pressing issue recently that they're probably the first group to come to mind ,but I'd like to know what you about immigration as a whole. At what point ,in your mind, do you draw the line on how much is too much and what is culturally acceptable? What do you think makes an "American". As a country I think we've been brought up to envision a pure, Christian, Go team go idealism when we think of what America is supposed to be as opposed to the melting pot concept that's often written on paper but not often thought of when ideaologies come to mind. What do you think?

I think melding IS the thing that makes us unique. You can't go in any other country and order eggrolls for dinner, go down the block and have creme brulee` for dessert:)
Oh yeah...apple pie and baseball!
Even most of our recognized American traditions were carried down through immigration. They are just better established.

Dang, don't get so heated. I understand and respect all of your view points.
First of all I think its hipocritical to say that all immigrants must have a job lined up when there are so many Americans drawing welfare. As for the notion that America was overtaken by the Anglos, its true and you have a valid point ,however, all countries have been taken over in someway or another and most do not carry their original inhabitants as pointed majority or authority. Chill, I'm half Filipina. part Irish, part English, and part Cherokee, I get it.
