Christian fundamentalists do not accept germ theory for the transmission of disease as it is contrary to what is in the Bible. Disease is caused by the wrath of god or bad airs.

I've met fundamentalists who have the views you describe. I've also had fairly long discussions with them. Some of the same people do not believe that heterosexuals can catch HIV -- unless they are otherwise "sinful."
These are fundamentalists. Fundamentalists of all stripes are among the most dangerous people on earth. Understand that, then take what they say with a grain of salt. It is not superstition, it is fanaticism.

You have a point. Many Fundamentalists do have some rather bizarre ideas about gay people. My personal favourite is the concept that we are responsible for tsunamies, personally, I was unaware we had such power, and if so could we not use it to rid the world of these petulant people.

Anyone that believes that is living in the stone ages, is totally ignorant, is uneducated, is missing brain cells etc. I don't care if they are christian fundementalists, white trash, black trash, ridgerunners, purple people eaters or idiots, anyone that dumb has no credibility. I can't believe that there are people out there that are that dumb with all the public awareness out there today. They should not be allowed in the gene pool.

That makes me mad!
Whenever you read a book like Am I Blue? Or Rainbow High, the mom always asks, "What about the... you know, AIDS?" When the kid comes out to them.

Because then they would have to admit that science exists, and if they admit that, they might have to admit other things that they really don't want to.
